What are K-cups?
K-cups are portion packs that are to be used with a Keurig single cup brewing system. They are inserted in a Keurig unit and brewed to create a hot cup of coffee or tea. K-cups are plastic containers made up of a filter and grounded beans. The grounds are sealed inside airtight using a plastic and foil top. Coffee is made when the brewer punctures the foil lid as well as the bottom of the cup, putting very hot water through it. The Keurig Company licenses its K-Cup technology to various coffee and tea makers, which produce a variety of tastes and smells. Some of these associated companies include Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (which owns Keurig itself) as well as Timothy’s World Coffee, Caribou Coffee, Celestial Seasonings and Bigelow Tea Company. This is the fastest and most delicious way to enjoy coffee in the morning!
